Gurnos is a large post‑war housing estate on the southern edge of Merthyr Tydfil in Wales, rising up the hillsides that lead towards the Brecon Beacons and the wider South Wales Valleys. Laid out in the 1950s–70s on former farmland, its streets and tower blocks marked a major council housing expansion designed to rehouse families from older town‑centre terraces.
