Baglan is a village and suburb in Neath Port Talbot, on the northern edge of Swansea Bay and just west of Port Talbot. It sits beside Baglan Bay and combines coastal marshland and reclaimed industrial areas with suburban housing; the settlement takes its name from the early Welsh saint Baglan, reflected in the parish church and local place-names.
Historically influenced by the heavy industry and steelworks of nearby Port Talbot, Baglan has seen recent regeneration with business parks, light industry and improved rail links such as Baglan railway station. The coastal marshes and bay remain important for birdlife, giving the area a distinctive mix of industrial heritage and coastal character.
