The ward centres on the small riverside village of Cilgerran in Pembrokeshire, tucked into the wooded gorge of the River Teifi. The settlement is dominated by the dramatic cliff-top ruins of Cilgerran Castle and has a modest tourist trade around walking, wildlife and local craft galleries and cafés that serve visitors to the Teifi Valley.
To the north the landscape opens into the scattered parish and village of Eglwyswrw, a predominantly agricultural area of rolling fields, hedgerows and small hamlets with a historic parish church and active community life. Together the two places marry heritage tourism by the river with a strong farming economy and a close‑knit rural social scene typical of inland Pembrokeshire.
