The village of Llangors sits in Powys in Wales, nestling beside Llangorse Lake (Welsh: Llyn Syfaddan) at the edge of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. The lake is the largest natural lake in southern Wales and is notable for its wildlife and for the remains of an ancient crannog, which hint at long-standing settlement around the water.
Today Llangors is a quiet rural community where farming mixes with a modest visitor economy: sailing, coarse fishing and other watersports are popular, and a few pubs, cafés and B&Bs cater to walkers, families and birdwatchers. The village retains a strong sense of place, with local events and outdoor activities shaped by the surrounding hills and historic landscape.
