Llanddew is a small rural village and civil parish a few miles east of the market town of Brecon in Powys, Wales, set on the gentle slopes above the River Usk and within easy reach of the Brecon Beacons. The setting is quintessentially pastoral, with farming still important to the local economy and walkers and visitors drawn by the quiet lanes and nearby hills.
The village is best known for St David's Church, a medieval building with notable ancient fabric and churchyard yews, and for earthworks and remains that hint at a once-significant episcopal presence in the area. Social life is small-scale and community-focused, with history, landscape and proximity to Brecon combining to give Llanddew a tranquil but historically resonant character.
