Rhostyllen is a small village on the edge of Wrexham in north Wales, tucked between suburbia and open countryside. It grew up around the coal and iron industries and still bears traces of that past in old railway alignments and slag-heaps, while being only a short drive from the town centre and surrounding hills.
The community has a village feel with local clubs, pubs and a village hall, and its industrial heritage links it to nearby sites such as Bersham Ironworks; at the same time residents enjoy easy access to country walks and historic houses like Erddig, with the older parish landscapes around Ruabon also close by. Today it functions largely as a residential and commuter settlement with an active local life and a quietly proud history.
