Ruabon is a village and parish on the edge of Wrexham county borough in north-east Wales, sitting at the foot of Ruabon Mountain and within easy reach of the Dee valley and towns such as Llangollen. The surrounding hills and disused quarries give the area a rugged, walkable character and there are strong links to the rural landscape and country estates nearby, notably the historic Wynnstay estate.
Historically Ruabon grew through coal, iron and clay working and became famous for its red bricks and tiles, products that helped shape many Victorian buildings across Britain. Today it keeps a mix of village amenities, a railway station serving the region and a local community proud of its industrial past and countryside access, combining commuter connections with outdoor recreation and heritage interest.
