Pant and Johnstown sit on the southern outskirts of Wrexham, close to the former industrial village of Bersham. They are mainly residential suburbs with local shops, community facilities and some light industry, benefitting from good road links into the town centre and easy access to the surrounding countryside.
Both places carry a strong industrial heritage from 19th- and 20th-century coal and ironworking, which shaped much of the housing and local identity and can still be seen in converted sites and memorials. Contemporary life is centred on community halls, pubs and sports clubs, with many residents commuting into Wrexham, while modest regeneration projects have sought to improve housing and public spaces.
