Turvey is a compact village and civil parish in the Borough of Bedford, in Bedfordshire, lying on the north bank of the River Great Ouse about seven miles west of the town of Bedford. It has a picturesque, largely agricultural setting with a traditional village street pattern and a number of listed buildings that hint at its long history and rural character.
Historically centred on the parish church of St Peter and St Paul and the nearby country house of Turvey House, the village also hosts the well‑regarded Turvey Transport Museum, which draws enthusiasts to the area. Today it is mainly residential with a close‑knit community, local events and services, and many residents commuting to larger towns while surrounding farmland and small businesses sustain the local economy.
