Lavendon is a small, rural village and civil parish within the Borough of Milton Keynes, sitting on the north-eastern edge of the borough in the agricultural landscape of north Buckinghamshire. It has a compact historic core centred on the parish church (with medieval fabric) and a number of older brick and stone cottages, giving it a recognisably village character despite being within commuting distance of larger towns.
Traditionally an agricultural community, Lavendon today combines farming with a significant commuter population who work in Milton Keynes and nearby towns such as Olney and Bedford. Local life is marked by a village hall, community groups and a handful of listed buildings, so the social scene remains focused on local events and longstanding rural traditions rather than large-scale industry.
