Sutton Reddicap lies on the northern edge of Birmingham, forming part of the wider Sutton Coldfield area. It mixes suburban streets with pockets of former heath and small green spaces, and sits fairly close to Sutton Park, so residents can easily reach countryside while remaining a short commute from the city centre.
Historically the neighbourhood evolved from rural heathland into a commuter suburb through the 19th and 20th centuries; today it is largely residential with local shops, schools, community halls and sports clubs. The local economy is dominated by small businesses and outward commuting, while active residents’ groups and community events give the area a strong local identity.
