Westdene & Hove Park

The Westdene & Hove Park (electoral ward) is a residential slice of the city of Brighton and Hove, taking in the suburb of Westdene and the large green space of Hove Park. It sits on the slopes rising towards the South Downs, so many streets have good views back towards Brighton and the seafront; the ward is primarily made up of family homes, council-built estates and small local parades of shops.

Geographically and socially the area is notable for its pleasant mix of open recreation - Hove Park is used for sports, community events and informal kickabouts - and quieter, leafy residential streets. The neighbourhood feels community-oriented, with local schools, clubs and resident groups active in running events and looking after green spaces, while many people commute into central Brighton for work and leisure.
