Westbourne & Poets' Corner

Westbourne & Poets' Corner is an electoral ward on the western side of the city of Brighton and Hove in East Sussex. It brings together the village‑like shopping parade and cafés of Westbourne with the mainly residential area known as Poets' Corner, where many streets were named after literary figures; much of the housing stock is Victorian and Edwardian terraces with occasional later infill.

The ward sits close to the seafront and has good transport links into Brighton and beyond, with nearby green spaces such as Hove Park. Historically shaped by 19th‑century coastal expansion, it today feels socially mixed - long‑standing families and an influx of younger professionals - and is notable for its independent shops, cafés and a strong local community presence; it returns councillors to Brighton and Hove City Council.
