Brampton is a village and civil parish in the historic district of Huntingdonshire, within Cambridgeshire in England, lying just to the north‑east of the market town of Huntingdon and within easy reach of Cambridge. It has a largely rural character with a mixture of historic buildings and more modern housing; the presence of a nearby RAF station in the 20th century helped shape its recent history and employment patterns, while today many residents commute to workplaces in Cambridge, Peterborough and beyond.
Locally the village retains a strong community feel, with village pubs, clubs and occasional events reflecting its agricultural roots. Footpaths and hedged fields, together with proximity to the River Great Ouse and regional transport links, give Brampton the balance of countryside character and accessibility that many find appealing.
