Ramsey Mereside is a small fenland village just north of the market town of Ramsey in the historic district of Huntingdonshire, within Cambridgeshire, England. Sitting in the flat, drained landscape of the Fens, it is surrounded by agricultural land, waterways and wetland habitats that attract wildlife; the area is also close to landscape-scale conservation efforts such as the Great Fen and important wetland systems like the Ouse Washes.
Locally the village feels rural and community-minded, with many residents connected to farming or commuting to nearby centres such as Peterborough and Huntingdon. Historically the wider Ramsey area is notable for its medieval abbey, Ramsey Abbey, and the landscape still bears the imprint of peat cutting and fen drainage that shaped the region’s culture and economy.
