The village of Barton-le-Clay sits on the Greensand Ridge in Central Bedfordshire, a short drive from Bedford and Luton. Its rolling countryside and the nearby Barton Hills National Nature Reserve give the area a distinctive mix of chalk and greensand habitats popular with walkers and naturalists.
Historically a small agricultural settlement with a medieval church and pockets of thatched cottages, Barton-le-Clay has evolved into a partly commuter community while retaining local shops, schools and active clubs. A strong sense of community is maintained through village events, societies and volunteer projects, and farming alongside small businesses still plays a noticeable role in the local economy.
