Blunham is a small rural village and civil parish in Central Bedfordshire, sitting on the banks of the River Ivel a few miles east of Bedford. It is well known locally for its attractive old stone packhorse bridge and the surrounding watermeadows, which support a variety of birdlife and make the area popular with walkers and anglers.
The village retains a strong community feel with a village hall, church, primary school and a pub, set amid working farmland and a mix of older cottages and later housing. Economically it remains rooted in agriculture while also serving as a commuter base for nearby towns, and there is local interest in conservation and village events that celebrate its historic character.
