Stoke Canon is a small village and civil parish in East Devon, Devon, England, sitting close to the banks of the River Exe and a few miles from the city of Exeter. Its setting on the river floodplain gives the area a mix of wet meadows, hedgerows and winding lanes, making it popular for riverside walks, birdwatching and spotting otters and migrating fish in season. The village retains a handful of traditional cottages and riverside features such as a weir and former mill sites that hint at its historic links to milling and agriculture.
Today Stoke Canon has a quiet, community-focused character: a small population, local amenities and village groups, with many residents commuting into nearby Exeter for work. Historic roots are visible in older buildings and the parish church, while modern life is shaped by its rural setting, local events and recreational use of the river and surrounding countryside.
