Upper Yeo & Taw is a predominantly rural area in Mid Devon, Devon, England, taking its name from the upper reaches of the River Yeo and the River Taw. The ward is characterised by rolling farmland, hedgerow-lined lanes, small river valleys and scattered hamlets, with traditional stone cottages, old bridges and the occasional former watermill punctuating the landscape.
Farming remains the backbone of the local economy - largely livestock and dairy - alongside small businesses, rural tourism and walking pursuits that make use of the quiet river corridors and biodiversity. Historic parish churches and village halls still anchor community life, creating a mix of long-established rural families and newer residents who commute to larger towns in Devon.
