Holne is a small village and civil parish on the southern edge of Dartmoor in the district of South Hams, Devon, England. It perches above the wooded valley of the River Dart and is known for its attractive granite buildings, mixed farmland and easy access to moorland footpaths, riverside walks and traditional bridges and clapper-style crossings.
Historically an agricultural community with medieval roots, the parish today combines farming with a modest tourism economy - walkers, paddlers and holiday-let visitors are common - while a small, active local population looks after a historic village church, conservation of woodlands and river habitats, and the social calendar of a close-knit rural community.
