The electoral ward of Coseley sits within the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley in the West Midlands, on the north‑west edge of the conurbation between Wolverhampton and the town of Dudley. It is a largely residential area of Victorian terraces alongside later council and suburban estates, with straightforward rail and road links into Wolverhampton and Birmingham.
Like much of the Black Country, the ward carries an industrial heritage - coal mining, ironworking and light manufacturing shaped its streets and community for generations - but today it is more mixed, with commuters, local shops and small firms. Local schools, churches, pubs and voluntary groups remain important to neighbourhood life, and green spaces and small retail centres provide focal points for a community that still identifies strongly with its industrial past.
