Coseley is a former industrial village in the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley, in the heart of the West Midlands. Sitting close to Wolverhampton and within easy reach of Birmingham, it grew up around coal mining, nail making and ironworks typical of the Black Country, with canals and railways that still mark the landscape and a local station providing commuter links.
Today Coseley is largely residential, a mix of Victorian terraces, later council housing and pockets of light industry, with a modest high street, community clubs and pubs that reflect its working‑class roots. The area retains a strong local identity and Black Country heritage while many residents commute to nearby centres such as Brierley Hill and Tipton for work and leisure.
