Middleton-on-the-Wolds is a small village in the East Riding of Yorkshire, tucked into the rolling chalk hills of the Yorkshire Wolds. The surrounding landscape of open downland, dry valleys and patchwork arable fields gives long rural views and makes the area popular with walkers and cyclists as well as supporting a predominantly agricultural economy.
The village retains a distinctly rural, community-led feel, with a village hall and parish activities at its heart and a mix of traditional farming households alongside commuters to nearby market towns such as Market Weighton. Its roots are in agriculture and local services for surrounding farms, and local events, sports and seasonal shows continue to underpin a close-knit social life while keeping the unspoilt Wolds character.
