Reedness is a small village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, set on low-lying ground beside the River Ouse a few miles from the port town of Goole. The landscape is typical of the Humberhead levels: reclaimed marshes, extensive farmland and a network of drains and dykes that reflect centuries of land drainage and river management.
Life in Reedness remains rural and community-focused, with agriculture historically dominant and the river once important for local trade and transport. The surrounding wetlands support notable birdlife and are popular with walkers and anglers, while a handful of traditional buildings and local events give the village a quietly historic, villagey character.
