Roos is a small village and civil parish on the Holderness plain in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Sitting a few miles inland from the Humber Estuary and the North Sea, it enjoys the flat arable landscape and wide skies typical of the area and lies within easy commuting distance of Hull.
Historically an agricultural settlement, Roos still has working farms but also a number of residents who commute to nearby towns; the shifting coastline of Holderness and the estuary have shaped local life. The village retains traditional community features such as a parish church, village hall and pub, and is a pleasant base for coastal walks, birdwatching and exploring the quieter side of the East Riding.
