The village of Burton Pidsea sits on the flat agricultural plain of Holderness in the East Riding of Yorkshire, close to the saltmarshes of the Humber Estuary. The low‑lying landscape, sea defences and nearby nature reserves such as Spurn Point give the area a distinctly coastal character, with plentiful birdlife and wide arable fields shaping the local scenery.
Historically a small rural parish with medieval origins, the village’s economy remains rooted in farming while many people commute to Hull for work. There’s a strong village community spirit - a village hall, pub and sports clubs host regular events - and a handful of historic buildings and a parish church that reflect its long‑standing rural heritage.
