South Cave is a large village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, lying on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds and roughly a short drive west of Hull. Paired historically with neighbouring North Cave, it has a compact centre of period houses, independent shops and pubs that give it a distinctly village feel despite a sizeable local population.
The village is known for its attractive countryside and walking routes into the Wolds and for the parkland and walled gardens of Cave Castle Country Park, the remains of a country estate that hosts community events. Locally the economy mixes agriculture with a commuter population heading into nearby towns, while historic buildings and a conservation area reflect South Cave’s medieval and later heritage.
