North Newbald is a small village in the East Riding of Yorkshire, a few miles from Market Weighton and roughly 12 miles west of Hull. Set on the edge of the rolling chalk hills of the Yorkshire Wolds, it retains a compact historic core of stone and timber‑framed cottages clustered around a village green and pond.
With medieval roots and a number of listed buildings and a parish church, the settlement keeps a distinctly rural, agricultural character while many residents commute to nearby towns. Community life is lively for a village its size, centred on the village hall, sports clubs and occasional events, and the surrounding lanes and footpaths make it popular with walkers and cyclists exploring the Wolds.
