Little Clacton is a small village and civil parish in the district of Tendring, Essex, in eastern England. Sitting on the gently rolling farmland of the Tendring Peninsula, it lies just inland from the North Sea coast and is only a few miles from the resort of Clacton-on-Sea, with Colchester roughly a short drive to the west. The area is characterised by arable fields, hedgerows and pockets of older cottages and farmhouses, giving it a distinctly rural feel despite its proximity to coastal towns.
Historically a farming community with roots stretching back to medieval times, Little Clacton retains a parish church, village hall and local clubs that help sustain a close-knit social life. Economically it remains linked to agriculture but also benefits from commuters and those drawn to coastal tourism nearby, while local events and grassroots groups keep a steady village rhythm of fairs, sport and community activity.
