Berry Hill is a village on the northern edge of the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, England, lying close to the larger settlements of Cinderford and Coleford. Perched on a ridge above the wooded valleys, it gives easy access to the forest’s network of footpaths and bridleways and sits within a landscape of ancient woodland and reclaimed industrial sites.
Historically the village grew with the 19th‑century coalmining and ironworking that shaped much of the Forest of Dean, and traces of that industrial past survive alongside Victorian terraces and later housing. Today the local economy blends forestry, tourism and commuting to nearby towns, while a strong community life - pubs, clubs, schools and events - reflects the area’s distinctive free‑mining heritage and rural traditions.
