Farringdon is a small rural village in the rolling Hampshire countryside, located in the district of East Hampshire, Hampshire, England, a few miles south of Alton. Set among chalk downland and farmland close to the edge of the South Downs National Park, it retains a mix of traditional cottages, working farms and quiet country lanes.
With medieval roots and a number of historic buildings, the community today combines agriculture with a commuter population and small local businesses; village life centres on a village hall, local clubs and occasional community events. The surrounding countryside is popular for walking, riding and wildlife-spotting, and equestrian activity and small-scale farming remain important to the local economy and social life.
