Horndean is a large village on the edge of East Hampshire in Hampshire, England, sitting close to the outskirts of Portsmouth and the rolling downland of the South Downs National Park. Historically it grew from a small agricultural settlement into a sizeable commuter community in the 19th and 20th centuries, and you still find a traditional village core and pockets of older buildings alongside more modern housing.
Today Horndean has a busy local economy of small shops, schools and light industry, plus community clubs and regular events that keep a strong village feel. Its position near major road links and countryside attractions such as the nearby country parks makes it popular with families who work on the south coast but want ready access to countryside walking and outdoor recreation.
