Elvetham Heath in the district of Hart, Hampshire, England is a largely modern residential development built on former heathland and farmland from the 1990s onwards. It sits close to the market town of Fleet and is characterised by pockets of green space, play areas and a generally flat, suburban layout that retains a sense of countryside on its edges.
The neighbourhood is mainly residential with a local retail parade, community centre, primary school and sports facilities, and it attracts families and commuters because of good road and rail links to nearby employment centres such as Farnborough. Socially it feels like a family-oriented commuter suburb rather than a historic village, though the area’s name recalls the older estates and landscapes that once occupied the land.
