Penton Grafton is a small village and civil parish tucked into the rolling chalk downland of the Test Valley district of Hampshire, close to the county boundary with Wiltshire and a few miles north of the market town of Andover. The surrounding landscape is distinctly rural, with hedged fields, lanes and farmland shaping a quiet, lightly populated parish.
The community keeps a traditionally rural character - stone and brick cottages, a parish church and a village hall sit alongside working farms and some equestrian activity. Economically many residents combine local agriculture with commuting to nearby centres via the A303 or to larger towns such as Winchester, and local life is marked by occasional community events and the layered history common to Hampshire villages.
