Dymchurch is a coastal village and civil parish in the district of Folkestone and Hythe on the flat expanses of Kent's Romney Marsh in England. It’s noted for a long sea wall and broad shingle beach, surviving Martello towers along the seafront and a colourful smuggling past, and the little heritage line, the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, which runs along the promenade and adds a nostalgic touch to the town.
Today Dymchurch is primarily a family seaside destination with caravan parks, beach huts and local shops; the surrounding marshland still supports sheep grazing and rich birdlife, and the community stages seasonal events that keep a small‑town, welcoming atmosphere. Nearby towns such as New Romney and Hythe provide additional services and transport links for visitors and residents alike.
