Syston is a market town in the borough of Charnwood in Leicestershire, England, lying roughly five miles north‑east of Leicester. It occupies a pleasant riverside setting close to the River Soar and sits on the A46/A6 road corridor; the settlement has medieval origins and a traditional parish church, and expanded through light industry in the 19th century before becoming increasingly a commuter town for the nearby city.
Today Syston mixes local high‑street shops, small industrial estates and attractive green spaces along the river with an active community life - sports clubs, markets and annual events remain important - and benefits from good road and public‑transport links that make it a convenient base for people working and socialising across the region.
