Measham is a village and civil parish in North West Leicestershire, Leicestershire, England, close to the Derbyshire border. It sits by the River Mease and has a canalside character owing to the nearby Ashby Canal, with easy access to surrounding countryside and the National Forest.
Measham grew up around coal mining, clay extraction and a distinctive local pottery industry - 'Measham ware' lustreware is particularly associated with the area - and developed as a small transport and market centre in the 18th and 19th centuries. Today it retains a strong community feel with heritage groups, pubs and shops, and visitors can still see traces of its industrial past in former kilns, canal features and traditional village buildings.
