Saxilby is a large village and civil parish in West Lindsey, Lincolnshire, England, lying on the outskirts of Lincoln. It grew from medieval roots - its "-by" name reflects Viking influence - and expanded with Victorian transport links; it still has a railway station on the line serving Lincoln and points west, and sits close to the floodplain of the River Trent, which has shaped local agriculture and landscape.
Today Saxilby combines a commuter role with local industry and services, plus an active village life: community groups, sports clubs and village facilities are well used. The area also has a 20th‑century heritage connection through the wartime airfield at RAF Saxilby, while many residents value the mix of green spaces and easy access to the city of Lincoln.
