Blakelaw and North Fenham

Blakelaw and North Fenham is a civil parish in Newcastle upon Tyne, lying to the north‑west of the city centre. It is largely residential, with much 20th‑century council housing and terraces interspersed with small local shops, parks and play areas that give it a suburban, community‑focused feel.

The area grew from former agricultural land into a housing suburb during the 20th century and today combines family neighbourhoods with pockets of light industry and business estates close to the main roads such as the A1. There is a mixed social profile and an active local life centred on schools, community centres and regeneration projects that aim to improve housing and facilities while keeping the area well connected to the city.
