Eastoft is a small village on the Isle of Axholme in North Lincolnshire, England, set in low‑lying, drained peatlands on the edge of the River Trent floodplain. The local landscape still bears the imprint of the 17th‑century drainage of Hatfield Chase, with a patchwork of reclaimed farmland, drainage ditches and remnants of wet moorland nearby.
Historically linked to peat cutting and market gardening and later to the rural rail network such as the former Axholme Joint Railway, the village today is mainly agricultural with many residents commuting to nearby towns like Scunthorpe and Doncaster. It retains a compact, community‑centred feel, with a parish church, local amenities and village events that reflect its rural character and ties to neighbouring places such as Crowle.
