Aldwincle is a small, rural parish in North Northamptonshire, England, made up of the clustered settlements of Great Aldwincle and Little Aldwincle. It lies on the rolling farmland and limestone soils of the Nene valley beside the River Nene, a few miles from the market town of Thrapston, and is characterised by narrow lanes, stone cottages and an open, agricultural landscape popular with walkers.
The parish has a long history reflected in a notable medieval church dedicated to St Peter and St Paul and a number of listed historic buildings; it is also linked to the poet John Dryden, who was born locally. Today the local economy remains largely agricultural with many residents commuting to nearby towns, and the community retains a quiet, village feel with active conservation interest in its historic character.
