Geddington is a small parish in North Northamptonshire, set in rolling countryside on the edge of the old royal hunting grounds of Rockingham Forest. It sits within commuting distance of larger towns such as Kettering and Corby, and today combines agriculture, a handful of local businesses and a commuter population while retaining a compact village centre.
Its best-known feature is the ornate stone Eleanor cross known as Geddington Cross, one of the most complete of the memorials erected by Edward I; it stands by the village green amid timber-framed cottages, the parish church and surviving stocks. The medieval street pattern, conservation-minded residents and an active village community give Geddington a strong sense of continuity, drawing history enthusiasts while remaining a quiet rural place to live.
