Map of the UK

Dundry is a compact village and civil parish on a limestone ridge to the south‑west of Bristol in North Somerset. Sitting on the high ground at the edge of the Mendip Hills, it offers wide views over the city and the Severn Estuary, and its underlying oolitic limestone - historically quarried as "Dundry stone" - was much used in medieval building, notably in parts of Bristol Cathedral and other local churches.

The village retains a distinctly rural character with a mix of farming, former quarry sites and a commuter population who work in nearby towns. At the hilltop St Michael's Church the medieval fabric and vistas attract walkers and history enthusiasts, and the community maintains a quiet, village‑centred social life shaped by its landscape and heritage.
