Fadmoor is a small rural parish on the northern edge of the North York Moors in North Yorkshire, set among moorland and rolling limestone countryside a few miles from the market town of Helmsley. It offers wide views over heather-clad moors and patchwork farmland and is a handy base for walkers and birdwatchers exploring the national park.
Traditionally agricultural, the parish remains largely farming-led with sheep and mixed upland farms, now complemented by holiday lets and quiet tourism; stone-built farmhouses, dry-stone walls and traces of old field systems give a strong sense of history. With a small, close-knit population the community retains a peaceful village feel while being within easy reach of attractive Ryedale villages such as Hutton-le-Hole.
