Raskelf is a small village and civil parish in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire, lying just off the A19 corridor between York and Thirsk. It occupies gently rolling farmland on the edge of the Vale of York, giving it a quietly rural feel while remaining reasonably well connected by road and rail links to larger centres.
With medieval roots the village retains a church with historic fabric and a handful of listed buildings, and it once had a local station on the East Coast Main Line that closed in the mid 20th century. The local economy is dominated by agriculture, though many residents commute to York, and village life centres on a pub, village hall and occasional community events that keep a close‑knit social scene.
