Ridgeway is a largely rural electoral ward in West Berkshire, England, occupying part of the northern slopes of the chalk hills that form the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The ward takes its name from the ancient track The Ridgeway and is characterised by rolling downland, hedged lanes, prehistoric barrows and small villages and hamlets that make it popular with walkers and riders.
Locally the economy leans on agriculture and the equestrian sector, with training yards and livery yards linked to the nearby racing and training centre around Lambourn, while many residents commute to larger towns such as Newbury and Reading. Community life centres on parish churches, village halls and conservation areas, and the long history of settlement is visible in listed buildings and landscape features.
