Cholsey is a riverside ward and village in South Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, lying a short distance east of Wallingford and close to Didcot. It has good rail links on the Great Western line and a small heritage branch, so it serves as a popular commuter base while retaining a mix of farmland, riverside paths and village amenities.
The settlement has a long history stretching back to the Anglo‑Saxon period and its St Mary's Church contains early masonry; the churchyard is also known as the burial place of Agatha Christie. Local life centres on village clubs, two pubs and community events, with the preserved Cholsey and Wallingford Railway and nearby Thames scenery adding to its historic and leisure appeal.
