Wothorpe is a small village just within the Peterborough unitary area, sitting on a high ridge close to the market town of Stamford and the Lincolnshire border. Its position on the edge of rolling farmland and pockets of woodland gives good views over the Welland Valley and makes it popular with walkers and riders.
Historically a tiny rural settlement, Wothorpe is noted for the picturesque ruin of Wothorpe Towers and its proximity to the grand park and events at Burghley House. Today it remains largely residential with agricultural and equestrian links, a quiet commuter base for nearby towns and a sense of village character prized by locals.
