Norcot is a suburban ward to the west of Reading in Berkshire, centred on Norcot Hill and the residential streets that slope away from it. The area mixes pockets of green space and small local shopping parades with mainly Victorian, Edwardian and interwar housing, and the hill gives some pleasant views back across the town.
Historically it grew as part of the expansion of Tilehurst and Reading in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and today the ward is largely residential with local schools, community centres and small businesses rather than large industry. It has a diverse population, active neighbourhood groups and the typical commuter economy of west Reading, with many residents travelling into Reading or further afield by rail and the nearby motorways.
