Holybrook is a civil parish on the western edge of Reading in West Berkshire, largely suburban in character and centred on the suburbs of Calcot and Beansheaf Farm. It lies on the low-lying floodplain of the River Kennet and takes its name from the historic millstream, the Holy Brook; the A4 and close access to the M4 make it a convenient commuter belt location with easy links into the town and beyond.
Locally the area mixes post‑war and later housing, small shopping parades, light industrial estates and community green spaces, with a parish council active in organising events and local planning. Its character is shaped by an agricultural and milling past - evident in place names and occasional older buildings - while today the population is broadly residential and diverse, many residents working in Reading or commuting further afield.
